QUARTERBACK
When Tom Brady completes only 48.6 percents of his passes, he's off. He was at times under duress or trying to protect receivers from taking a pounding, and several times was badly served by receivers making the wrong read. But other times he was simply inaccurate or unseeing. He overthrew James Develin in the flat on his first pass and overthrew and underthrew Brandin Cooks several times deep. Some of those were Cooks' fault, but Brady also missed Cooks wide open for a touchdown on a crossing route. Brady, Cooks and Danny Amendola were so far from being on the same page that Brady was flagged for intentional grounding on one throw when it didn't appear that was his intention. He launched a pass behind Amendola on third-and-12 and tried to force another to him when double covered. He also nearly threw his sixth pick in as many games but safety Jamal Adams dropped it. Brady made a perfect up-and-out toss to Cooks for 37 yards on thirdand-2, and found a mismatch in coverage with linebacker Demario Davis that led to an easy 5-yard TD toss to Dion Lewis. He also threw a sort-of-block on Cooks' double reverse that gained 12 yards on third-and-1. He wisely went after reserve cornerback Juston Burris immediately after Morris Claiborne was injured. Amendola turned him around on his first play with an out route for 16 yards, then beat him against off coverage on fourth-and-2 for an easy conversion. Twice Brady pulled the ball down to avoid challenging coverages and his perfect throw on a deep cross to Phillip Dorsett was dropped so it wasn't all accuracy problems.
