AG’s office: Troopergate investigation moving forward
Attorney General Maura Healey’s office says its investigation of the Troopergate scandal is moving forward, though it’s unclear whether the shocking drunken driving arrest of a Worcester County prosecutor would play into it.
“No comment,” Healey spokeswoman Jillian Fennimore said yesterday when asked whether the arrest of Worcester Assistant District Attorney John A. O’Leary, who was booked Monday night by Trooper Ryan Sceviour, would be a factor in the probe.
Sceviour was ordered in October to scrub a report detailing the drunken and drugged driving arrest of a judge’s daughter and is now suing his superiors. Sceviour’s attorney told the Herald Tuesday that his client was “nervous” after signing off on O’Leary’s report.
Sceviour’s suit claims he and trooper Ali Rei, 33, were reprimanded and threatened with suspension after initially refusing to edit embarrassing details out of an arrest report on Alli Bibaud, 30, the daughter of Dudley District Court Judge Tim Bibaud.
Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early’s office declined to comment. O’Leary, 48, of Bolton, was suspended without pay after pleading not guilty to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, child endangerment while operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and resisting arrest.
