Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. and New England Development have revealed more details and preliminary renderings for Allston Yards — their proposed 10.6-acre, mixed-use development with up to 1,050 housing units, office space, a new flagship store for the grocery chain and other retail, restaurant and fitness uses.

The four-building project would be built in phases over several years at the Everett Street site of the current Allston Stop & Shop, located near the Mass Pike and next to New Balance’s 15-acre Boston Landing complex and the MBTA’s Boston Landing commuter rail stop.

Plans include approximately 300,000 square feet of office space, a new 67,000-square-foot Stop & Shop, 50,000 square feet of other retail and restaurant space, a half-acre community green and up to 1,300 parking spaces.

“We are excited at the opportunity to provide area residents with a new state-of-the-art grocery store in a dynamic mixeduse environment,” Stop & Shop President Mark McGowan said.

The project’s initial building would include the new Stop & Shop, 360 housing units (townhome-style units and 14 stories of apartments), ground-floor retail, community space, 410 structured parking spaces and on-street parking. Sitewide roadway and utility improvements would be completed, including the community green at Arthur Street and a new Guest Street Extension, where a restaurant also is proposed. Phased demolition and construction would allow the existing Stop & Shop to stay open during the initial construction, according to project documents.

Maryland real estate firm The Bozzuto Group and Baltimore developer Southside Investment Partners are project partners with Quincy-based Stop & Shop and Boston’s New England Development.
