Oz got to geek out with one of our own local celebrities while he was in Minnesota for the Super Bowl. Dr. Oz took to Instagram, sharing: “Ran into the (Patriots) receiver (Julian Edelman) and spoke to him about his workout regimen, including TB12 active stretches, hour-long naps in salt immersion baths, and lots of regular old fashioned nighttime sleep, which he felt was one of the most important tips to success in pro-sports.” As a result, Oz relayed, “After 9 years in the league, (Edelman) can tell when his fast twitch muscle fibers are firing with power.”
AN OPEN BOOK: Kristin Hannah, author of the bestseller “The Nightingale,” will be in the Boston area later this week to discuss her latest novel, “The Great Alone.” Her new book is set in the mid-1970s and it follows a ex-POW who, upon returning from Vietnam, decides to give his family a fresh start by moving to Alaska. But in their newfound seclusion, comes struggle. Hannah will be able to tell you more in person, with speaking engagements lined up at The Rivers School in Weston tomorrow night and the Chelmsford High School Performing Arts Center on Thursday night. CHILI CON BLARNEY: Ned Devine’s Irish Pub is hosting its 9th and final Chili Cup, benefiting Community Work Services, on Feb. 15.
