Westwood rallies to eliminate OA

Conor Donohue scored twice, including the gamewinner with 47 seconds left in overtime, as No. 7 Westwood (13-6-2) rallied to stun No. 10 Oliver Ames, 3-2, in a Division 2 South firstround contest last night.

The Wolverines trailed 2-0 in the third before Donohue broke the ice, then Mark Horsfall tied it with two minutes to go. Ross Carroll and Adam Healy had the goals for the Tigers (13-9-0).

In other Div.2 South action, Mike Foley scored twice and David Corrigan, Sean Tyer, Mason Giunta, Tom Schofield, Shawn McTavish, Ryan Johnson and Brian Abely each tallied once as No. 8 Medfield (125-3) rolled to a 9-2 victory against ninth-seeded North Attleboro . . . . Colin Curley had the winning goal and also added an assist and No. 6 Medway (15-7-0) slipped past No. 11 Scituate, 2-1.

Ryan DiPilato scored the game’s only goal as No. 14 Barnstable surprised third-seeded Franklin, 1-0, in a Div.1 South firstround upset . ... John Carr, Chris Burnes and Al Arno all scored, the final goal an empty-netter, as No. 4 Natick (14-6-2) defeated 13th-seeded Weymouth, 3-1. ... Matt Ryan’s power-play goal in the third period broke a 2-2 tie and No. 8 Xaverian (10-6-5) went on to defeat No. 9 Mansfield, 6-2. Matt Talarico, Mike Pitochelli and Ty Marchi all scored in the final two minutes for the Hawks.

James Kiley scored three times as No. 7 Winchester (13-7-2) defeated 10th-seeded Reading, 5-1, in a Div.1 North first-round contest.

Andrew Pratt scored five goals and No. 7 Newton South blanked No. 10 Hamilton-Wenham, 7-0, in Division 3 North. Aram Tashjian and Johnny Baker also scored for the Lions (12-6-3).

Girls

Grace High scored the game’s only goal and Emily Mathews registered the shutout as No. 7 Duxbury (17-3-2) edged No. 26 Arlington, 1-0, in a Div.1 preliminar­y round contest . ... Carly LaCasse and Elise Buckley scored goals 50 seconds apart late in the third period to give No. 14 BMWORR (14-5-2) a 2-1 win against No. 19 Boston Latin. ... Jess Driscoll scored the game-winning goal with eight minutes left as No. 4 Methuen/Tewksbury (18-12) edged No. 29 Reading, 3-2. Brenna Greene and Carolyn Curley also scored for the Red Rangers.

Mackenzie Fraser and Cat Luciano each scored empty net goals as No. 21 Mansfield/Oliver Ames/ Foxboro (12-6-3) defeated No. 12 Plymouth, 3-0. Kristina O’Connell tallied the other goal in the first period . . . . Seanna McEneaney scored twice and MiKayla Bestford recorded the shutout as No.5 Barnstable (16-1-4) defeated No. 28 Billerica/Chelmsford, 4-0 . . . . Casey Ward recorded a hat trick in the second period as No. 9 Norwell (147-0) rolled to a 7-0 victory against No. 24 Central Catholic in a Div. 2 preliminar­y round tilt.
