Christine Loeber, Boston native, worked with vets
Christine Marie Loeber of Napa, Calif., formerly of Easton, a social worker, died March 9.
She was born in Boston and raised in Easton.
She was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School and the University of New Hampshire, where she earned a degree in communications.
Ms. Loeber began her professional career path working at New England Sports Network.
She worked for Boston Health Care for the Homeless while earning a master’s degree in social work from Boston College.
She began working with veterans at the VA in Brockton following graduation in 2008, focusing on trauma and substance abuse, particularly with women.
She earned her yoga teaching credentials at the Kripalu Center and integrated yoga to help veterans cope with trauma.
Ms. Loeber moved to California to work at the VA in Palo Alto, Calif., and later in Santa Rosa, Calif. In 2016, she became executive director of The Pathway Home, a residential program for post-9/11 veterans transitioning into higher education, teaching yoga to veterans.
She enjoyed hiking, running, cycling, travel and the ocean on both coasts.
She was an avid reader, movie and music buff, animal lover and faithful fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
She is survived by her father, Donald, of Easton; her mother, Marie, of Taunton; a sister, Michelle, of Harrison, Maine; and extended family and countless friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, North Easton.
