SWEET EMOTION AS PERRY REVEALS GIGS

-

Joe Perry is back at it, but this time without the whole Aerosmith pack. The Lawrence-born guitar icon just announced a small selection of shows he’ll be playing with pals.

Perry has shared that he’ll be performing three shows this spring, with two of them happening in New England. Perry will be taking the stage with his fellow Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford and Extreme’s Gary Cherone on lead vocals, and they’ve confirmed shows on April 18 at Boston’s House of Blues, on April 19 at the Hampton Beach Casino in New Hampshire and on April 20 at Borgata Music Box in Atlantic City, N.J.

When it comes to those local gigs, fans will be treated to some special guests. Perry’s Boston and Hampton Beach shows will also include sets from Charlie Farren of “The Joe Perry Project” and former Boston guitarist Barry Goudreau’s Engine Room.

The upcoming performances stem from Perry’s latest solo album “Sweetzerland Manifesto,” which he released earlier this winter and promoted with a visit to Back Bay’s Newbury Comics in January. The album is crammed with collaborations between Perry and a mix of musicians, like A-list actor Johnny Depp, Robin Zander, Terry Reid and Zak Starkey.

The shows’ setlists will boast a blend of songs from the new album, as well as his previous solo work and Aerosmith classics. Tickets are currently up for grabs at www.joeperry.com.
