THE GREAT DANCE-OFF
Shaq and Gronk make moves
If you’ve ever secretly wanted to see two legendary giants engage in a dance-off, you’ll be happy to hear that dreams really do come true: Former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal and Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski showed off their massive moves during a Miami Music Week party.
Gronk and Broncos linebacker Von Miller incited the friendly competition while jamming out at Toe Jam Backlot. Shaq jumped in for Miller, who stepped aside to cheer it all on, and we’re told the crowd went wild as the two sizeable athletes got down on the dance floor. Gronk’s routine included taking off his shirt (of course) and literally hopping onto Shaq’s shoulders, trans- forming the duo into a single mega-human.
The party was a product of O’Neal himself, an event he dubbed Shaq’s Fun House. The retired basketball player rolled out the new concept late last week during the Florida city’s famous EDM music festival. Almost 3,000 people flocked to the carnival-themed rave, which he also DJ’d under his stage name of Shaq Diesel. Sharing the stage during the shindig: worldrenowned artists Diplo, A Trak, Carnage, Steve Aoki and Nervo, as well as Miami’s own DJ Irie.
Playing into the party’s theme, Shaq’s Fun House had a separate stage dedicated to a “Fantasy Cabaret Show,” where carnival performers had attendees in awe. In addition to Gronk and Miller, special guests included fellow NFL players Carlos Dunlap, Duke Johnson and Mark Ingram, “Shark Tank” star Daymond John and fashion designer Alexander Wang.
