BOYS BASKETBALL

DOUG ALVES

The senior point guard was the leader for the Trojans all season long, averaging 18 points and seven assists. A three-time Old Colony League All-Star, Alves totaled over 1,000 points for his career. The 5-foot-10 guard will do a post graduate year.

MATT DELAHUNT

One year after leading Hanover to its first Div. 3 state championsh­ip, Delahunt had an impressive senior season. He averaged 17 points and 11 rebounds while winning the Patriot League's Most Valuable Player award for the second time. Delahunt is undecided on his college plans.

WALTER DEW-HOLLIS

The 6-foot-1 senior forward ended his career in style, averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds a game in leading the Bears to their first Div. 2 state title. The MVP of the Boston City League, Dew-Hollis is a two-time BCL All-Star. He is undecided on plans after graduation.

JALEN ECHEVARRIA

The junior point guard was coMVP of the Catholic Central Large, averaging 17 points a game in leading the Spartans to the Div. 3 North finals. A two-time CCL All-Star, Echevarria ended the year with 996 career points. Echevarria also runs on the school's cross country team.

CHRIS EDGEHILL

Edgehill led Franklin to its second straight appearance in the Div. 1 state championsh­ip game. The sophomore point guard averaged 18 points and five assists and was a Hockomock League All-Star.

TRAVIS EVEE

A four-year starter, the senior point guard scored 22 points and dished out 4.2 assists in his senior season. A threetime Catholic Conference AllStar, Evee ended his career with 1,403 points. An honor roll student, he is undecided on his college plans.

KANI GLOVER

The 6-foot-3 senior shooting guard had a breakout season averaging 19 points and six rebounds per game. The Catholic Conference's Most Valuable player, Glover led the Knights to a Catholic Conference title and a 16-5 record. An honors student, Glover is planning on a postgradua­te year.

ANTHONY GONSALVES

Gonsalves was one of the top players in Div. 4 this season, leading Mashpee to the South title for the first time in school history. The senior power forward had 22 double-doubles in 24 games, averaging 16.7 points to go with 13.6 rebounds. The South Shore League Tobin Player of the Year, Gonsalves is undecided on his college plans.

ANDY JOHNSON

The senior guard led Apponequet to a 22-1 overall record and a spot in the Div. 3 South finals. Johnson finished the season averaging 20 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. A two-time South Coast Conference All-Star, Johnson scored 1,153 career points and played in two sectional finals. A member of the National Honor Society, Johnson has not decided on plans after graduation.

BENSLEY JOSEPH

The powerful 5-foot-11 point guard helped guide Arlington to its second straight Middlesex League Liberty title. Joseph averaged 18 points, six rebounds, and five assists while tying the league record for most three-pointers in a game with nine. Only a sophomore, Joseph has already scored 520 career points while also earning Middlesex League All-Star honors this season.

ABU KABA

The 6-foot-4 senior small forward averaged 14.7 points and corralled 10 rebounds in leading the Boxers to a 20-4 season and a berth in the Div. 1 South sectional final. Kaba's seasonhigh came on Feb. 16 against Catholic Memorial as he poured in 29 points. He is undecided about his future college destinatio­n.

JOHN KORTE

Korte was at the center of Watertown's run to the Div. 3 state title. The two-time Middlesex Freedom's Most Valuable Player, Korte averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds per game. Finishing his career with 1,337 points, Korte also leaves as the all-time leader in rebounds with 640. A high honor roll student, Korte is planning on doing a postgradua­te year.

JOHN McCOY

The Hornets senior forward was at the fulcrum of his school's first-ever Div. 1 state basketball title. McCoy averaged 17.8 points and 7.1 rebounds this season. The Hockomock League's Most Valuable Player, McCoy will attend the Tilton School for a postgradua­te year in the fall.

JAKE McELROY

A Herald All-Scholastic in football, McElroy had a standout junior season on the court leading North Andover to the Div. 2 North title. He scored 18 points per game while winning the Merrimack Valley Conference Small MVP. A three-sport athlete, McElrory is expected to be one of the top baseball players in the league this spring. He is an honors student with a 3.6 GPA.

TOMMY O’NEIL

The 6-foot-8 forward had another big year this season, earning his second straight Catholic Conference All-Star honor. O'Neil averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds per game this winter in leading the Prep to a 16-6 record. He finished his career averaging double figures a night. A member of the National Honor Society, O'Neil will do a postgradua­te year in the fall.

DAMIEN PERRY

The junior guard was one of the top players in the Eastern Athletic Conference, leading the Spartans to a league championsh­ip. Perry, who was a part of Stang's Div. 3 state championsh­ip two seasons ago, averaged 21 points, five rebounds and five assists. He also surpassed the 1,000-point plateau this season.

ANGEL PRICE-ESPADA

Price-Espada turned in one of the top performanc­es in state championsh­ip history, netting 49 points on 10 3-pointers to lead the Lions to their first Div. 4 state title. The junior was exceptiona­l all season while winning the Catholic Central League Small Division MVP, averaging more than 24 points a game. A two-time CCL Small All-Star, the 5-foot-7 guard already has scored 1,116 career points.

KHAI SMITH

The sophomore center emerged as one of the top post players in Massachuse­tts this season, winning the Dual County Large MVP. Smith averaged a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds per game in leading the Falcons to a 20-3 record, a DCL Large title and a berth in the Div. 1 North sectional semifinals.

RIVALDO SOARES

One of the most skilled players around, the 6-foot-5 swingman averaged 20.1 points, 13 rebounds and 5.5 assists. A member of the school's 1,000-point club, Soares ended the season with 1,222 points. The junior has been an all-Boston City League player since his freshman year.

LEVAR WILLIAMS

A first team Boston City League selection, Williams was one of the premier outside shooters in the state. The junior marksman knocked down 128 treys and averaged 20 points in leading the Bulldogs to the Div. 3 South sectional title. He has already received recruitmen­t from several Division 1 schools.

MAURICE WORKS

A two-time Boston City League All-Star, Works helped lead TechBoston's charge to the school's first Div. 2 state championsh­ip. The combo guard scored 17 points per game, including a career-high 29 points against Windsor (Conn.). The senior has also starred on the AAU circuit, winning a national championsh­ip with BABC.

DANNY YARDEMIAN

After starring on the soccer field in the fall, Yardemian followed it up with an impressive basketball season. The junior point guard was named a Middlesex League All-Star as he averaged 23 points and seven assists per game in leading the Marauders to a 17-6 record. In his two years as a varsity starter, Yardemian has totaled 785 points.
