WAHLBERG ... IS BACK

After 40 days, actor posts to Instagram

-

We all now know what Mark Wahlberg gave up for Lent, thanks to an Easter message the Catholic boy shared yesterday.

“I don’t know if you guys have noticed, but I haven’t posted any videos other than the distracted-driving video for the Kiefer Foundation because I wanted to stop posting for the 40 days of Lent,” the Dorchester-raised actor said in an Instagram video.

That story checks out. With the exception of his post from last week, in which he asked people to pledge their help in ending driving with cellphone distractions, the last time Wahlberg was on Instagram was Feb. 14. He and his wife, Rhea, wished fans a happy Ash Wednesday and Valentine’s Day, while sporting the ritualistic black smudges on their foreheads.

The end of Lent marks a special occasion for Wahlberg in several respects: He not only gets to return to social media — and apparently the gym — but he also gets to treat himself to a beachside vacation.

“I’m down here with my beautiful wife and kids for Easter in the Bahamas,” Wahlberg shared.

If we had any doubt about his whereabouts, Wahlberg provided photo evidence from his Easter trip. In the video, he showed us he was spending the holiday soaking up some sun in a Caribbean paradise, standing sans shirt in front of a pool … that was in front of the ocean. Because when you’re on vacation, you can’t get enough bodies of water.

Wahlberg is likely relieved to have a little R&R with the fam. He’s been busy in Atlanta, shooting the upcoming Sean Anders comedy, “Instant Family.” The movie, which stars Wahlberg and Rose Byrne, is slated for release on Feb.

15, 2019.
