Hannity puts feud to rest

Fox News host Sean Hannity last night said he is burying the hatchet in his Twitter feud with comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

“I believe everyone should accept apologies,” Hannity said last night. “That’s how I was raised. That’s what my religion teaches me, and I’m going to assume he was sincere.”

The two late-night hosts swapped Twitter insults with each other after Kimmel mocked first lady Melania Trump’s accent. Kimmel apologized Sunday on Twitter.

“I will take Sean Hannity at his word that he was genuinely offended by what I believed and still believe to be a harmless and silly aside referencing our First Lady’s accent,” Kimmel wrote.

Kimmel added that Melania Trump “has enough to worry about without being used as a prop to increase TV ratings.”

Hannity defended his own criticism of Michele Obama’s political remarks, but said he believes presidential family members should otherwise be off limits.

“I do enjoy a good fight. and I agree with Jimmy that it’s time to move on. Now, for me what this was really about, it was never about Hannity versus Jimmy Kimmel. It’s a lot bigger than that for me. The level of hatred and vitriol against this president and his family is frankly, unprecedented.”

Hannity invited Kimmel onto the show, betting the two would walk away from such an encounter agreeing about many things.
