GIRLS GYMNASTICS
NICOLE BONACORSO MASCONOMET/LYNNFIELD
A standout on this year's impressive Masconomet/Lynnfield squad, this sophomore from Middleton tied for eighth in the all-around at the State Championships, while helping her team finish third, their best placement in years. Her 9.225 on floor exercise at the State Individual All-Around Meet earned her third place in a tightly-scored event. The Cape Ann League All-Star also earned the league title in fall cheerleading.
CARSON CRONIN MEDWAY/HOLLISTON/MILLIS
A surprise addition to the powerful MHM co-op program, the Medway senior was a huge part of the team making it back to the State Championships. She finished first on both vault and balance beam with scores above 9.5 at the State Individual All-Around Meet, leading her to a second place finish overall. She earned both the beam and floor titles at South sectionals, and followed that up by capturing the vault and beam titles at the State Championships.
SOPHIA CUTLER MEDFIELD/ASHLAND/ DOVER-SHERBORN
The Dover-Sherborn senior earned All-Scholastic honors for the second straight year after a stellar finale to her high school gymnastics career. Cutler captained MADS to yet another State Championship appearance, finishing seventh in the all-around at the title meet. She also earned third place in the all-around at the South sectional, with a standout 9.45 on vault. Cutler has also made All-States for discus. She hopes to study Spanish and business in college.
KARA DEVEREAUX BRIDGEWATER-RAYNHAM/ WEST BRIDGEWATER
A member of the New England Champion and two-time state champion co-op team, Devereaux delivered in the clutch throughout the postseason. The vault anchor at the State Championships, her score lifted her team from behind to the title. At South sectionals, the Bridgewater-Raynham junior finished third on the apparatus. She finished fifth on uneven bars at the State Individual Championships, and took the Cranberry League title on the apparatus as well.
MADDIE DOYLE READING
The three-event standout for the Middlesex League champion Rockets, Doyle closed out her junior season with the New England Championship title on balance beam, scoring a 9.7. She also finished first on beam at the North sectionals and won the uneven bars title at the Middlesex League meet. Doyle holds school records in 1-meter and 3-meter diving and is an AAU National Qualifier in the sport.
EMILY EAGLESTON READING
A consistent competitor for the North sectional champion Rockets, Eagleston finished ninth in the all-around and eighth on vault at the State Championships. At North sectionals, the junior was fifth in the all-around and was runner-up on vault. Named a Middlesex League All-Star for the second straight year, she will spend the spring as the starting pitcher for Reading's softball team.
LILY GOULDING MANSFIELD
A successful sophomore campaign saw Goulding take fourth in the all-around and third on floor exercise at the State Championships, helping her Mansfield team to a second-straight runner-up finish. She was sixth in the all-around at both the State Individual meet and South sectionals. Goulding also captured the USA Gymnastics Level 9 state championship in floor exercise in March.
EMMA HUMPHREY ATTLEBORO
The Hockomock League All-Star finished out her high school gymnastics career with a fourth place finish on balance beam at the New England Championships. She also finished fourth in the all-around, on vault and on uneven bars at the State Individual Championships. She is a multiple-time school record holder in all-around, vault, beam and floor exercise. Humphrey will continue her gymnastics career at Bridgeport next season.
ERIN HURLEY MANSFIELD
A season full of standout performances earned the freshman team MVP honors for the State Championship runners-up. She finished fifth in the all-around at the state title meet, finishing first on uneven bars. Hurley won the all-around, vault and uneven bars in a loaded field at South sectionals. She also earned fifth place at the State Individuals, clinching the bars title as well.
OLIVIA KEYES BRIDGEWATERRAYNHAM/WEST BRIDGEWATER
The BridgewaterRaynham sophomore continued her strong high school gymnastics career by leading her co-op to its second consecutive State Championship and first-ever New England Championship. Keyes was second in the all-around at both meets. She also finished second on floor exercise, her strength, at the State Championships. To top it all off, she was the Cranberry League all-around champion.
OLIVIA KMITO BRIDGEWATERRAYNHAM/WEST BRIDGEWATER
A key part of the New England Champion co-op, the junior continued to be a clutch performer. Kmito had a good State Championship meet, finishing eighth on floor exercise and ninth on balance beam. She was the Cranberry League beam and vault champion, also earning fifth place on floor at the league meet. Kmito is also a member of National Honor Society and hopes to one day attend dental school.
BRYCE MCDONALD DRACUT
A major part of Dracut's resurgence onto the high school gymnastics scene, McDonald had a standout season. The senior set the school record with a 9.6 score on floor exercise during a winter that saw her win the MVC title on the event. She also was eighth on floor at the New England Championships. McDonald is headed to Anna Maria College where she will study business and play lacrosse.
GRACY MOWERS MASCONOMET/ LYNNFIELD
It is difficult to top a rookie season like the Masconomet freshman had. Mowers won the all-around at State Individuals, North sectionals and the State Championships. Her season-high scores are 9.5 or above on every single apparatus, including a sky-high 9.8 on vault. She was named the CAL/NEC MVP. In the midst of a busy high school season, Mowers also found time to capture the Level 9 club state championship, qualifying her to the National Championships.
KATERINA POULOPOULOS MEDFIELD/ASHLAND/ DOVER-SHERBORN
In her first season competing in high school gymnastics, the Medfield sophomore showed off big skills. Poulopoulos was third at the State Individual Championships, finishing third on both vault and uneven bars. At South sectionals, she earned third place on bars and eighth in the all-around, helping MADS to a third place finish. She finished sixth in the allaround at the State Championships, again taking third place on vault.
LILA SHERMAN NEWTON SOUTH
It was another standout year for the Lions sophomore. Sherman was named Dual County League Gymnast of the Year, and won the all-around championship, uneven bars and floor titles at the league meet. She qualified to the all-around competition at State Individuals, tying for seventh on the uneven bars. Sherman also clinched the bars title at North sectionals.
ALISON SILVA BRIDGEWATER-RAYNHAM/WEST BRIDGEWATER
The West Bridgewater junior added important performances to her co-op's state title defense. Silva finished 10th on floor exercise at the State Championships. In a loaded field at South sectionals, she was fifth in the all-around and second on floor. Her strong tumbling also led her to a fourth place outing on floor at the State Individual Championships. Silva was also named a Cranberry League All-Around all star.
HANNAH WHITNEY READING
One of the state's strongest balance beam performers, the freshman finished on the podium for the apparatus at a number of big meets. She earned the Middlesex League beam and all-around titles, also finishing second on floor exercise at that meet. Whitney's North sectionals was also stellar, with second place finishes in the allaround and beam. To top it all off, she took eighth place on beam at the State Championships.
KATIE WRIGHT MELROSE
A key member of the always-dangerous Melrose squad, the sophomore was one of the best in the strong Middlesex League this season. At the league meet, she earned first on floor exercise and second in the all-around. At North sectionals, she was fourth in a talented all-around field. Wright also plays soccer and lacrosse for the Raiders.
