BOYS GYMNASTICS
SAMUEL ARBER NEWTON
The Newton South junior has become a leader for the fourtime state champion Newton co-op, and for good reason. Once again, he finished in the top three in the all-around at the State Championships, taking third this year. He also won the pommel horse title, and was runner up on both floor exercise and still rings. Arber finished no lower than sixth on any apparatus.
JAKE BARRETT BRAINTREE
With consistent performances and clean skills, the Braintree senior closed out his career with a second-place finish at the State Championships with an all-around score of 49.45. Barrett finished no lower than fourth in any apparatus. He helped lead the Wamps to a third-place finish. In the midst of a busy high school season, Barrett also found time to capture all-around titles at the prestigious Blackjack Invitational in Las Vegas.
ANDRAE BUTLER ATTLEBORO
The three-sport standout began his high school gymnastics career with style, finishing fifth in the all-around at the State Championships. The Bombardiers freshman captured second place on the high bar at States with a 8.15. During the regular season, he tied a 34-year-old Attleboro record by earning a 9.6 on vault. Butler will trade his grips for a lacrosse stick this spring, and also plays football.
CODY DAVISON BURLINGTON
The Burlington senior continued to wow with big skills in his final season. He finished third on parallel bars at the State Championships and was 16th in the all-around. Davison's dedication to the Red Devils and his consistent skills earned him the Senior Gymnast of the Year award by the Coaches' Association. Also a key cog at fullback for Burlington football, Davison is unsure about his college plans.
JACOB FORBES NEWTON
Forbes again was a key cog on the state championship Newton co-op. The Newton North sophomore finished sixth in the all-around competition at States with a score of 45.1, and recorded two impressive fifth-place finishes on still rings and high bar. Forbes also finished sixth in a loaded parallel bars field. He continues to show improvements on every event, including upgrades on floor exercise.
MATTHEW HASSAN NEWTON
The Newton North freshman was a key addition to the state champion co-op squad. He finished fourth in the all-around at his first State Championships, taking first on floor exercise with a giant 9.35 score. His Tsukahara vault was one of the best of the meet, landing him in fifth, and he finished fourth on high bar. He finished no lower than sixth on any apparatus at the title meet.
MICHAEL PHAM LOWELL
Lowell earned a school-best second place finish at the State Championships this season and Pham was a large part of that success. He finished fourth on the pommel horse at the State Championships and 11th in the all-around. A member of the top five percent of his class, Pham is headed to UMass-Lowell in the fall to study civil engineering.
CHRISTIAN WILKEY LOWELL
A major contributor to Lowell's best-ever State Championships finish, Wilkey brought big skills and the ability to hit when it counted. The senior won the State Championship all-around, and also captured apparatus titles on four of six events. His 9.5 score on still rings was the highest score of the entire meet. A high level club gymnast, Wilkey will compete in college gymnastics next year.
