UMASS SWIPES RIGHT ON CARDI

-

UMass wanna party with Cardi. In just one day, students at the University of Massachusetts Amherst successfully swiped their way to scoring all of the tickets available for the free Cardi B concert they won last week.

There were reportedly 7,500 spots up for grabs for the exclusive event and they had to go in a single day. Despite the narrow time constraint, every single ticket was snatched up by UMass students, who are the only ones allowed to attend, by endof-day Thursday.

The filterlessly frank rapper (nee Belcalis Almanzar) will be taking the stage for the complimentary on-campus concert, thanks to a valiant effort from The Minutemen, who triumphed during a promotional #SwipeOff contest on Tinder. The giveaway — which had dating app users across the country swiping right whenever they came across Cardi’s picture — ran from March 30 through April 17. The Amherst army beat out their contemporaries from 64 other universities across the country, including Boston’s own Northeastern, which they defeated in the final round. The Grammy-nominated singer, who had fans freaking out by showing off her growing baby bump during a performance on “Saturday Night Live” earlier this month, has also recently made music history.

Cardi B now holds the record for the most tracks simultaneously featured on the Billboard Top 100 of any other female artist — and we’re even counting Beyonce. The famous former stripper’s debut album, “Invasion of Privacy,” was released earlier this month, and she now has 13 songs currently on the rankings, including “Bodak Yellow,” “MotorSport,” “No Limit,” “Finesse” and “I Like It.” The spunky sensation is slated to perform for the UMass kids at the Mullins Center in Amherst on Wednesday. And we’re going to call it now: She’ll be dripping in finesse.
