- By O’RYAN JOHNSON

Four alleged shoplifters tossed beer bottles and refuse at cops during a car chase that reached speeds of 80 mph, police said.

The suspects’ flight from the law ended when the driver crashed the getaway car into another vehicle in Acton. No injuries were reported, police said.

“All four suspects are wellknown to police,” Littleton police Chief Matthew King said in a statement.

Cops said they first spotted the 2017 Subaru Outback near the Littleton police station and attempted to stop the driver after receiving a report of erratic operation.

The suspects began throwing trash at the cruiser and fled the stop, police said. The Subaru reached 80 mph as the suspects fled onto Interstate 495. A short time later the car exited and eventually collided with another vehicle.

The four are expected to be arraigned in Ayer District Court.

John Hickey, 31, of Everett is charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating with a revoked driver’s license, speeding, marked lanes violation, and failure to stop at a red light.

Dylan Brunetto, 27, of Billerica is charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, police said. Additionally, Brunetto has an open warrant for another shoplifting charge.

Felicia Drew, 31, of Pepperell and Gregory Tammaro, 28, of Groton are charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, and shoplifting over $100 by concealing merchandise.
