Royal wedding plans in full motion as Meghan’s bestie arrives in Britain
The royal wedding countdown has begun.
Meghan Markle’s best friend, Jessica Mulroney, just landed at Heathrow Airport en route to helping her pal prep for the royal nuptials to Prince Harry, set to take place May 19 at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.
Mulroney, the British paper The Sun reports, is a stylist who shares Markle’s made-for-TV look.
“Meghan’s turned to her for advice on everything from the dress, the flowers, decorations in church, the wedding lunch — and even the seating plan,” the Sun reported yesterday.
But the biggest secret is the dress — and “not even Harry knows who’s designing it,” the Sun added, quoting a royal source.
A dramatic ball gown or a classic, simple silhouette? Sleeves or bare shoulders? Markle most likely has already chosen her wedding dress.
Whoever the designer might be, Markle’s shopping experience is sure to be vastly different from most brides out there. London’s most upscale bridal retailers agree there are a few rules to follow.
Royal brides don’t generally pick ready-made dresses off the rack. Instead, Markle is likely to have commissioned an exclusive designer dress tailored to her shape and tastes — and chances are it will be handmade in Britain.
A luxury couture dress like that typically takes months of painstaking preparation.
Romantic, soft and whimsical styles with 3D details like petals are popular, experts say. But traditional shapes like a ball gown or a column silhouette never go out of style, and many who have watched Markle’s style have a hunch she might go for something unfussy and streamlined.
