MARIA BEGS FANS TO WATCH HEALTH

-

Medford’s own Maria Menounos just celebrated a significant anniversary, marking a year since being diagnosed with a brain tumor. The TV/radio personality used the milestone as an opportunity to plead with fans to stay on top of their health, sharing an emotional post on Instagram.

“One year ago I was getting a very important mri .... please get your annual physicals,” Menounos wrote. “Please keep a health/pain journal to review with your dr annually. Please focus on your health and listen when your body makes noises.

“Care enough to take action,” she continued. “Imagine the 5 year old version of yourself. What would you say to her/ him if they were having pains or symptoms? You would love him/ her enough to go to the doctor. Wrap your arms around your 5 year old bc He/ she is still there.”

In June 2017, Menounos had surgery on a meningioma, a benign brain tumor, while her mother, Litsa, was undergoing treatment for stage-four brain cancer. Since the health scare, she stepped down from her anchor job for E! News last summer, married her local longtime sweetheart,

Keven Undergaro, in a televised surprise wedding on New Year’s Eve, and has dedicated more of her time to advocating health and wellness. Most recently, she hosted Rally HealthFest in Chicago alongside comedian Kevin Hart and celeb trainer

Ron “Boss” Everline to promote a healthy lifestyle.
