Hop to the beat of WEEKEND FUN

- By HERALD STAFF

We may be jinxing ourselves, but this weekend looks perfect, weather-wise. So take advantage of the balmy, low-humidity scene and do some Cinco de Mayo celebrating, get in the Mayfair mood, savor the flavor and artistry of SoWa, then catch some cool TV shows for a Great Day Out/ Great Night In.

D-LIGHTFUL: The Lawn on D rules when it comes to warm-weather fun, and the venue is in the Cinco de Mayo spirit with free facepainting today from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., performances by the Mariachi Mexiamerica Band from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the Ricardo Monzon Band from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Don't forget the lawn games and food (concessions and bar open at noon). 420 D St., Seaport.

MY FAIR MAYFAIR: Still in the festive mood? Then head over to Harvard Square tomorrow for its 35th annual Mayfair festival from noon to 6 p.m. You can go arty and take in the music, dance troupes and chalk art gallery, or treat yourself to some retail therapy at some of the 60 artisans and merchants selling arts and crafts and jewelry, or just chow down at more than 50 food vendors serving international and local fare. Or some of each. Harvard Square, Cambridge; harvardsquare.com.

SOWA-NDERFUL: We've waited a long time for SoWa Open Market to return, and tomorrow from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., you can once again check out local artisans (Arts Market, 460 Harrison Ave.) selling jewelry, artwork, clothing and tons more; the Farmers Market (530 Harrison Ave.); food trucks galore (Food Truck Bazaar, 530 Harrison Ave.), brewers; and music in the South End. Head over to the Beer Barn, a beer hall and taproom in the SoWa Power Station (540 Harrison Ave.), sowaboston.com.

ROCK OUT: Get your groove on with the 2018 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (tonight at 8 on HBO). Bon Jovi, the Cars, Nina Simone, the Moody Blues, Dire Straits and Sister Rosetta Tharpe are the inductees, and those honoring them include Mary J. Blige, Andra Day, Questlove, Howard Stern and Steven Van Zandt.

CLOTHES CALL: What's more stressful than “Naked and Afraid”? “Naked and Afraid XL All-Stars.” Discovery brings together 13 of its most notorious contestants — including Kaila, Duck, Lindsey and Trent — to compete for 40 days and nights along the Selati River Basin in Africa (season premiere tomorrow at 10 p.m.). It's a region, Discovery warns, teeming with predators, and none is so ferocious as the fame-starved among us. Who will emerge triumphant?
