Tom can’t duck Insta compliments
Tom Brady can’t take a compliment. At least, when his supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen is fawning all over him in front of her tens of millions of Instagram followers to see. “Hello, everyone. We are almost arriving at the Met,” Bundchen said in the back of a limo with her quarterback hubby on Monday night. “Do you wanna see my cute date? There he is! What a cutie! Isn’t he a cutie guys?” The GOAT appeared to be visibly uncomfortable by the flood of flattery. Brady, typically the embodiment of calm, cool and collected, was blushing as he first dodged the comments by looking out the car window, then resorted to asking her to stop before finally ending the Insta story by playfully pushing away the camera with his hand.
To be fair, Bundchen’s coos did sound as if she were playing peek-aboo with a 2-year-old. Or like a wife who’s still head-over-heels about her husband after a pair of kids and nine years of marriage.
The power couple proceeded to walk the red carpet at the Met Gala wearing coordinating golden costumes to match the soiree’s theme of Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.
Other celebrity guests with New England roots included Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who attended the annual party with girlfriend and new mom, Ricki Lander, Former Gov. Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann, and Cambridgeraised actress Mindy Kaling.
Unlike last year’s event, Brady’s teammate Julian Edelman and new Miami Dolphin Danny Amendola, who previously attended the benefit with former girlfriend Olivia Culpo, weren’t among the pack of fashionable VIPs.
