Wide range of classes at Salem State in summer
Salem State University’s interim dean of graduate studies, Emerson “Tad” Baker, joined Boston Herald Radio’s “Morning Meeting” show Monday to discuss upcoming summer and fall courses and other programs offered at Salem State.
Q: How can interested students get more information about summer classes at Salem State?
A: There actually is a complete listing of our undergraduate and graduate summer classes at our website. If you go to salemstate. edu/summer it’ll show you everything that’s being offered along with course descriptions and all the information you need to decide.
Q: Are there both graduate and undergraduate classes?
A: Yes. In addition to those undergraduate courses I mentioned, we will be offering about 200 graduate classes this summer, so we have a wide range of courses there, too.
Q: I was thinking about how beautiful it is up on the North Shore. Is there housing available for students who are going to be taking summer classes?
A: Absolutely, because, of course, many of our students come here from a long way. And I agree with you, what a beautiful place to spend the summer, right? So summer housing is available for any and all students taking summer classes. The rates are very reasonable, and you get to live in one of our nice, new residence halls.
Q: Following the summer, we go right back to fall, and lots of exciting stuff going on there. That’s where everyone starts and gets things going. When should students be registering for fall classes at Salem State University?
A: Believe it or not registration has already started, so really people who are thinking about taking classes in the fall should sign up soon before classes fill up.
