Man who allegedly threatened to open fire at Hub rally arrested
An Indiana man who threatened to “start shooting Alt-Right guys” at the Free Speech Rally in Boston last summer has been arrested.
Federal authorities say Eric M. Radulovic, 32, of Indiana allegedly posed as a member of the “Alt-Right” movement days after the deadly “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Va., on the online discussion board 4chan to say he would shoot whites at the Boston rally just days later on Aug. 13, according to the indictment.
He was arrested yesterday and was scheduled to appear in Indiana federal court.
Authorities said Radulovic was “allegedly aware and upset” following the Charlottesville rally so he went on a “Politically Incorrect” discussion board to threaten violence in Boston as a means to obtain sympathy for the “Alt-Right” with a Remington 700 firearm.
“We need sympathy after that land whale got all liberals teary eyed,” Radulovic allegedly wrote. “So someone is going to have to make it look like the left is becoming more violent and radicalized ... but I’m aiming for the more tanned/ dark haired muddied jeans in the crowd so the real whites won’t have to worry.”
Authorities said the initial post warned people to behave and to not bring any illegal weapons to the Boston rally.
Radulovic, who now lives outside of Indianapolis, is set to appear in Boston on June 20, U.S. Attorney Andrew E. Lelling said, on a count of transmitting in interstate and foreign commerce a threat to injure the person of another.
If found guilty he could face up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine.
