BRIDE & JOY: AMY OPENS UP

-

It’s been four months since Amy Schumer and Martha’s Vineyard chef Chris Fischer said “I do,” and the comedian is opening up about their wedded bliss.

“He’s a great partner. We don’t complete each other, we complement and support each other,” Schumer told ex-E! News anchor Catt Sadler for her site, The Cattwalk.

“He makes me laugh and feel supported and has his own life going on. I love that weirdo.”

Schumer and Fischer, who also works at his family’s Beetlebung Farm in Chilmark, surprised fans in February when they staged a spur-of-the-moment seaside wedding in Malibu, Calif. And since their nuptials, they’ve been settling into married life, which includes thinking about potentially starting a family.

The “I Feel Pretty” star shared that she and her hubby “may want babies,” adding that modern moms like Sadler make it look like fun. But, for now, it appears the newlyweds are just enjoying their time as two. They recently walked the red carpet together for the first time at the Tony Awards, with Schumer earning a nomination for her performance in Steve Martin’s Broadway play “Meteor Shower.” And the duo had a rendezvous in Boston earlier this month, when they were spotted cheering at a Celtics playoff game and strolling through the Public Garden.

In addition to their outings as a couple, it sounds like the honeymoon phase has also been filled with a sense of self-contentment for the actress.

“I rarely think about how I look anymore,” Schumer said. “Honestly, it’s so freeing, and you get a lot more done and are a lot happier. You need to do the work to actually love the person you are. Also, we are all gonna die — don’t sweat the little dumb stuff. None of it matters.”
