TIPPED OFF ON TRAINOR WEDDING
Meghan Trainor has finally broken her silence and given us all what we’ve wanted: word on her wedding plans. The Nantucket-born singer dished a couple of details about her upcoming nuptials to actor Daryl Sabara, while filling in as co-host on the “Today” show yesterday.
“I was thinking, my backyard’s real pretty. Like, real beautiful,” Trainor told Hoda Kotb while on the air. “And I just want it be chill and with my family in the backyard and I think I’m going to do that around Christmas time because it’s my favorite.”
Trainor’s intention of saying “I do” around Christmas could also hold other significance for the singer. The 24-year-old’s birthday is Dec. 22, and last year, Sabara used it as his opportunity to pop the question.
The Grammy-winner, who also revealed she’ll likely wear her ever-evolving locks “long blonde” and “wavy” when she gets married, shared that not everyone in her life is thrilled that she’s disclosing deets — albeit small — about the big day.
“My mom is like, ‘Stop telling them!’” she said. “Mom, no one knows where I live. Maybe.”
Well, we at least know Trainor and Sabara won’t be tying the knot on Nantucket. Nothing about a Massachusetts winter would be conducive to the backyard wedding of her dreams — except maybe the “chill” part. Add to that the fact that her family closed its jewelry business on the island a couple of years ago so they could all relocate to Los Angeles and support her career.
Wherever chez Trainor may be located, the world will be getting a sneak peak of the yard, thanks to her upcoming album. She recently announced she will be releasing “Treat Yourself” on Aug. 31, and the cover will be a shot that was taken outside her house.
“We did a photoshoot in my backyard and it was my idea to be like, let’s go in the pool,” Trainor explained to Entertainment Tonight late last week. “Shouldn’t have done that! It was freezing. But I felt really sexy and powerful, and there was a lot of discussion on which picture should be the cover and a lot of people had other decisions. But I stood my ground and was like, ‘This is the hottest pic of me, probably forever of all time, so let’s just keep it as-is.’”
