Third Clinton run would be epic disaster
Is Hillary writing sequel to her previous presidential flops?
Three times will not be a charm for Hillary Clinton if she runs for office — more like three strikes and she’s out.
Speculation is growing that she may make another bid for the White House. This would be a massive mistake and embarrassment to the party. She is the reason Donald Trump is president. She was one of the worst presidential candidates. She outspent him and he outsmarted her, plus worked much harder to get the job — despite having the media on her side.
Just because some sad Democrats hug her in a bookstore and get teary-eyed that she is not the first female president is not reason enough to take on Trump a second time.
Joe Biden would even be better than Clinton. Frankly, liberals need a new leader who can promise change with new policies and ideas. It should not include crazy ideas like dissolving ICE.
In the past month, Clinton has sent out five emails expressing her outrage over Trump’s policies and what she has been doing about it.
One email’s subject line read, “Horrific.” She wrote, “This is a moral and humanitarian crisis. Everyone of us who has ever held a child in their arms, and every human being with a sense of compassion and decency should be outraged.”
At the end of the email she reminded everyone that she warned voters in the 2016 campaign of Trump’s immigration policies. Since her messaging was so poor, her calls for concern were not heard loud enough.
Some of her emails flat-out ask for money, while others are asking people to join the resistance and take part in protests. The one consistency in all the emails is that they read like a presidential campaign email similar to the ones U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren sends out.
The former secretary of state also touts her group, Onward Together, for having raised $1 million helping families separated at the border.
Making another run would not be what is best for her party. It simply would satisfy her own need to be relevant and powerful. Democrats can do better, and she should recognize that. It is unfortunate that in the last year and a half she has not done more soul-searching and taking blame for our current political environment.
