Local beer company Night Shift Brewing will be serving up suds this summer at parks by the Esplanade and Harvard Stadium.

The Department of Conservation and Recreation announced it has chosen the Everett-based brewery to operate two seasonal beer gardens in Christian A. Herter Park on Soldiers Field Road in Allston and Storrow Memorial Embankment Park at Fiedler Field on the Esplanade.

The Esplanade beer garden will operate starting in late July from Wednesday through Sunday, with the Soldiers Field Road location opening in early August on Saturdays and Sundays. Both locations will close sometime in late October.

All patrons will be required to show ID in order to enter the selfcontained areas separated from the park. Portable restrooms and food trucks will also be at each location.

The DCR said the company was selected after a competitive process for these seasonal beer garden pilot locations.

“The Department of Conservation and Recreation continues to explore unique opportunities that provide the public with exceptional experiences within the state parks system,” DCR Commissioner Leo Roy said in a statement. “We are excited to be working with Night Shift Brewing, where two beer gardens will be strategically located along the iconic Charles River, providing a picturesque landscape that will be truly enjoyed by so many.”

Both beer gardens will be open from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and noon to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

Last call for customers will be at 9:30 p.m. during most of the week and 7:30 p.m. on Sundays.
