NOTABLES GRUB AROUND TOWN

-

It’s Sunday, so can we get an Amen? We’re giving you a quick rundown of big names and their Boston whereabouts from this past week, so we think we deserve a little praise — no bowed heads required.

Boy George was apparently sent enough food to feed an army of men while he was preparing for his performance at the Boch Center Wang Theatre this weekend. Robert Earl, who recently purchased the local pizza chain Bertucci’s, is apparently a close friend of the singer so he had an enormous spread delivered to the venue. Among the items George and his band devoured backstage: a massive margherita pizza and a Caesar salad that could satiate an entire empire.

Dinner was on Tedy Bruschi Thursday night. The former NFL linebacker held an event at East Boston’s

Cunard Tavern to thank the members of his 2018 Marathon team, Tedy’s Team, who raised over $500,000 for the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. We’re told the group posted up on the restaurant’s roofdeck, spending the night walking — or running — down memory lane together.

And in other ex-Patriot news, Troy Brown made a special grocery trip to Wegmans in Natick yesterday. The retired wide receiver spent the morning checking items off his list, which included signing autographs and handing out Greek yogurt samples to fans.

A bunch of Boston big names gathered for a fundraiser for Gov. Charlie Baker. PR guy George Regan hosted the poolside shindig at his Willowbend residence in Mashpee, where folks savored some of Massachusetts’ favorite summer essentials: Bertucci’s pizza made onsite in a mobile brick oven and Friendly’s ice cream. Besides Baker, the seemingly endless guest list included: Suffolk Construction’s John Fish, restaurateur Donato Frattaroli, Commonwealth Financial’s Joe Deitch, Seaport Hotel General Manager James Carmody, auctioneer Marianne Sullivan, Barnstable County District Attorney Michael O’Keefe, Mashpee police Chief Scott Carlin and Lisa Oliver of Cape Cod Bank.
