T WILL BE ON THE RUN FOR CARTERS

Special train to bring fans to Gillette Stadium

-

All aboard The Carters express! With Beyonce and Jay-Z’s joint show hitting Foxboro this weekend, the MBTA is literally rolling out the welcome wagon, dedicating an entire train to carting crowds to and from the power couple’s performance.

Jay-Z and Beyonce will be taking the stage together at Gillette Stadium on Sunday, as part of their OTR II Tour. Their latest stadium show circuit is of course the sequel to the original On The Run Tour, which the married pair also co-headlined back in 2014.

As a city, we might still be shaking off the three-day run that Taylor Swift completed at the enormous venue last weekend. But ready or not — and by that, we mean that you better be ready — The Carters’ extravaganza will be starting at 7:30 p.m. sharp. In addition to Bee and Z, the show promises appearances from special guests R&B duo Chloe x Halle, as well as the third wheel to the pair’s song “Shining,” DJ Khaled. (Ten bucks says you read his name in that voice).

In terms of the commuter rail ride to the concert, the MBTA is servicing only one train, which has a high probability of being a mobile pre-show party potentially featuring sing-a-longs and dance numbers, at least from the Beyhive. It will leave South Station at 5:35 p.m and will have select stops in Back Bay, Ruggles, Forest Hills and Dedham Corporate Center. Check out mbta.com/ mass by train for info like additional times and pricing for round-trip tickets. And in the words of the golden duo themselves, this is what we’re thankful for.
