FIT FOR FUTURE FLICK

Mark Wahlberg shares insane regimen

- BY OLIVIA VANNI

It’s a skosh too late to work on that summer bod. Nevertheless, Mark Wahlberg is sharing some of the secrets of his insane fitness regimen, documenting nearly every painful moment of discipline on Instagram and encouraging fans to get after it, too.

“The wine cellar is officially shut! Time to start this training and get back into it!” he captioned his first video, which he shot earlier this week at about 5 a.m. — an hour after he had already started his day, prayer session included.

“I’m challenging you all to get up and join me with this transformation. Let’s go guys!!!” added the Dorchester native, who’s long been dedicated to getting buff for the big screen.

Frankly, our dedication wavered when he declared a ban on wine. And that tentative commitment continued to wane when he shared a clip a couple days later as he took to his tennis court for torture — we mean, training — with only the darkness and, apparently, coyotes as companies.

“Getting up early every day, making it work,” he said while he pushed a sled, with trainer Brian Nguyen weighing it down, across the court.

Between labored pants and literal screams about how much the exercise sucked, the actor shared that the thought of the vanilla latte shake he got to enjoy as a postworkout meal kept him going. This no-cheat treat is made with whey protein and sheep milk yogurt, which he said was to give you a good boost of fat. Personally, we’ve always found nacho cheese and gelato to be more effective in that department.

Wahlberg, who mentioned that he’d soon be starting two-a-days, also revealed part of his recovery strategy. He hit both the hyperbaric and cryo chambers, showing us the inside as he blasted Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” in one Instagram story.

All of this strictness is part of his preparation for an upcoming flick, which was holding auditions for “real” local guys this weekend in Allston. We suspect that the movie is what IMDB is calling “Wonderland,” a project whose plot reportedly follows an ex-felon as he reestablishes his place in Boston’s criminal network. And Wahlberg, who we must point out denied Richard Rodriguez’s allegations of steroid use earlier this year, is apparently planning on looking very much unreal when he starts shooting scenes.
