WOMAN STAGES TINDER GAMES

Lures scores of men with promise of date into contest in NYC

Most people have a bad date story. On Sunday in New York, more than 100 guys shared the same one.

Using the popular dating app Tinder, Natasha Aponte lured the lonesome Romeos to Union Square in Manhattan. The men were set up in an elaborate ruse, according to multiple reports.

All of the men swiped right, which indicates interest in a profile, apparently believing they were meeting the woman for a one-on-one date. But once they arrived, the anticipation fizzled.

One Twitter user chronicled the big letdown in a series of tweets Monday calling it “an epic tale” of “subterfuge, dating in the 21st century and the fall of human civilization.”

He went on to explain: “A few weeks ago I was on the Tinder machine shopping my soul around and I match with a very attractive young lady,” he said.

After chatting, the pair exchanged phone numbers, and the woman said she wanted to meet but was involved in a work project, and wanted to talk again in “a week or two.”

After two weeks of radio silence, the woman resurfaced, inviting the man to a Sunday evening DJ set near Union Square.

“I make my way to Union Square,” he tweeted. “Eat a hot dog and look over by this open lot ... there is a stage and a DJ and about 100 ppl ...

“Eventually I see a girl moving towards backstage with two enormous bodyguards in sunglasses and realize it’s her,” he wrote.

“I stay back and assess the situation . ... The DJ eventually stops playing and she gets on the stage ... I immediately think I’m too old for this ... She gets the mic and is like thanks for coming out I bet you’re all wondering what this is about ... Then she says I’ve invited you all here for a chance to go on a date with me and proceeds to give a hunger games speech about what it’s gonna take to date her.”

The object of their affection, according to the New York Post, had some requirements.

“The first elimination is if you think you can support Trump and date a Puerto Rican, now’s the time to leave. If anyone’s a tourist or doesn’t live in this country, you should leave, too.

“Also, anyone named Jimmy. I don’t enjoy the name Jimmy.” Also out: beer bellies, long beards, khakis, and Tom’s shoes.

She also disqualified men who were under 5-foot-10, The New York Times reported. She asked the remaining contestants to perform pushups and footraces.

“At that point I am genuinely amazed at the fallopian fortitude this girl possesses,” the suitor added. “Dudes actually stayed and played. I went home.”

The stunt reportedly was videotaped by Rob Bliss, the man who shot a widely watched catcalling video in 2014.

Bliss said the event was a stunt and a video would be released tomorrow.
