FROM ‘RUNWAY’ TO THE FENWAY
Fashionista, designer team up on artistic pop-up
Erin Robertson and Nicole Fichera are making it work. The “Project Runway” alumna and the interior/ product designer want creative members of the community to get artsy at a new pop-up concept they’re opening in the Fenway neighborhood today.
Their temporary storefront, called Hourglass, will be a triple threat of experiences, encompassing a boutique, a studio and a workshop area — all dedicated to creating and the created. For the shopping aficionados, Hourglass will be selling a collection of couture garments and specialty products designed by Robertson, who won Season 15 of the reality competition, as well as jewelry and decorative items from Fichera. Their inventory will also include a curated selection of secondhand clothes and accessories, furniture and home decor, and original artwork made by female artists.
Besides pedaling stylish finds, the creative duo will also be letting the city’s aspiring content creators do their thing within the Hourglass studio, space decked out in bold backdrops and spunky props. The thinking is, it will allow aspiring influencers to compose eye-catching photos and videos that will let them stand out on social media and other online channels.
And for those Bostonians still honing their aesthetic skills, Hourglass will also be offering an array of workshops to get us to the next level of originality. Classes will cover a range of topics, including topics like photography and social media, business and entrepreneurship, selfexploration and emotional intelligence, in addition to specific crafts, such as embroidery, calligraphy and jewelry making.
More details about all of Robertson and Fichera’s pop-up happenings can be found at www.hourglass.boston. To announce their place’s presence in town, the gals will be hosting an open studio this weekend, where folks can enjoy live performances, mingle with special guests, take part in photo shoots and explore everything they have to offer. Otherwise, Hourglass will be open weekly through late September, occupying the space at 1327 Boylston St. from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday.
