DEAR JOHN, DON’T RUN AGAIN

Only media hoping for Kasich vs. Trump

-

John Kasich should stay in Ohio and forget about a 2020 run.

The Ohio governor tried and failed at a presidential bid in 2016 and embarrassingly won only his home state of Ohio. Donald Trump gave Kasich the nickname of “1 for 38 Kasich” during the race, speaking to his terrible primary results.

Kasich is not a contender who will take Trump’s job away. Republicans should not donate a dime to the potential opponent.

There’s even a poll from his home state that shows he would even lose Ohio to Trump if he ran in 2020.

The media is desperate to get the 2020 campaign going and willing to waste time on a politician who has no chance at beating Trump just to fill airtime. However, these TV hosts thoroughly enjoy having a Republican on their show who slams Trump.

Nothing is more delightful for them than to have someone from Trump’s own party trash him. Kasich benefits from toying with the idea of running and appearing on these shows because it helps his book sales and increases his name recognition as he makes his decision about challenging Trump.

Recently Trump tweeted about Kasich and detailed how Republicans are hurt when he campaigns for them: “The very unpopular Governor of Ohio (and failed presidential candidate) @JohnKasich hurt Troy Balderson’s recent win by tamping down enthusiasm for an otherwise great candidate. Even Kasich’s Lt. Governor lost Gov. race because of his unpopularity. Credit to Troy on the BIG WIN!”

For Kasich’s part, he claims a run for president is more like a calling than him looking for personal political success.

“But at the end I worry about my country,” he conceded. “I worry about my country being a great leader in the world, not more conflict which can lead to — let’s not even go there. I want my country, where the people that live in this country, whoever they are, to feel as though they have a hope, they’re respected and they can be successful. That to me is what it is really all about.”

Slamming Trump at any available moment is not a unifying force for America.

Kasich will most likely play with the media for as long as he can, but shouldn’t dive into a race he can never win.
