• Derek Williams ran for 179 yards and four scores as Brockton avenged last year’s loss to Lexington with an impressive 42-14 win.

• Ricky Brutus rushed for 102 yards and four touchdowns, while returning a punt 70 yards for a fifth score as Methuen defeated Malden Catholic, 41-16.

• Tyler Reid ran for 203 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries as Needham upset No. 9 Natick, 20-16.

• Khari Johnson caught a pair of touchdown passes and returned a kick 90 yards for a score as Catholic Memorial rolled past St. John’s (Shrewsbury), 49-25.

DIVISION 2

• James Dillon rushed for 142 yards and five touchdowns as Lincoln-Sudbury rolled to an impressive 35-7 victory over Springfiel­d Central.

• Matt Petercuski­e threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns as Barnstable defeated DennisYarm­outh, 20-13.

• Billy Silvia ran for 106 yards and three touchdowns, while adding an intercepti­on as Braintree handled Quincy, 28-13.

• Gabe DeSouza caught four passes for 124 yards and three scores as North Andover cruised to a 35-7 win over Woburn.

DIVISION 3

• Nolan Houlihan made the most of his first-ever varsity start, completing 25-of-30 passes for 320 yards and six touchdowns as Billerica held off Lowell, 54-49.

• John Roberts completed 8-of12 passes for 187 yards and three touchdowns, whle rushing for 101 yards and three more scores as Duxbury defeated Bridgewate­rRaynham, 40-14.

• Keith Ridley threw for 248 yards and four scores as Lynn Classical rolled to a 52-8 win over Medford. Nashaun Butler was the top target, hauling in five passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns.

• Shane Aylward caught four passes for 191 yards and a score as Tewksbury took care of Lawrence, 34-6.

DIVISION 4

• Jake Doherty ran for 425 yards and four touchdowns, while returning a kick 95 yards for a fifth score, in Burlington’s 43-33 win over Bedford.

• Kevin Peete ran for 210 yards and three touchdowns as Melrose extended its winning streak to 17 with a 40-6 win over Malden.

• Tim Cronin ran for 177 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries as Marblehead cruised to a 55-0 victory over Triton.

DIVISIONS 5-6

• Aidan Sullivan ran for 240 yards and three touchdowns as Scituate handled Norwell, 34-14.

• Matt Arvanitis threw for 203 yards and three touchdown, all going to Anthony Dzindolet, as Holliston defeated Norton, 33-15.

• Chrys Wilson came off the bench to complete 13-of-16 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown, while rushing for another score as Bishop Fenwick shut down Hamilton-Wenham.

• Isaiah Cobbs rushed for 181 yards and a score on 14 carries as Middleboro rallied to defeat Apponequet, 18-14.

• Sam O’Furie ran for 202 yards and a touchdown as Salem took care of Austin Prep, 25-6.

• Ben Yanakakis completed 8-of-10 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for 101 yards and two scores as Ipswich defeated Essex Tech, 44-36.

• Justin Lopes ran for 215 yards and two scores, while throwing for 87 yards and another TD as Bishop Stang beat Seekonk, 42-22.

DIVISIONS 7-8

• Jalen Echevarria had never played football before, but the speedy back made up for lost time as he opened the season with a 95-yard kickoff return for a score and also rushed for 115 yards and two more scores as St. Mary’s defeated Millis, 30-12.

• Carmine Palmisano rushed for 196 yards on 16 carries, including touchdown runs of 65 and 48 yards, as Gerorgetow­n rallied to edge Tech Boston, 35-34.
