Investigation clears Saugus grid coach

-

Saugus football coach Anthony Nalen was cleared of allegations involving an incident at a preseason practice last month in which it was alleged a player was made to practice in his underwear.

Nalen was placed on administrative leave by Saugus High pending a police investigation. He and his assistants were not on the sideline for last Friday’s season opener, a 30-12 loss to Amesbury.

Nalen maintained his innocence in a statement released through his attorney, Mike Castano. “The Saugus police have cleared my good name and I thank them for doing a thorough investigation,” he said.
