Packers’ Rodgers questionab­le to play

Green Bay Packers quarterbac­k Aaron Rodgers is questionab­le for tomorrow’s NFC North showdown at the Minnesota Vikings.

Rodgers, who missed the end of the first half of the Week 1 victory against Chicago with an injured left knee before returning to lead a comeback from a 20-0 deficit, did not practice all week.

Even if Rodgers doesn’t practice today, coach Mike McCarthy says he still could play . . . .

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterbac­k Ben Roethlisbe­rger returned to practice after skipping two workouts due to a right elbow injury. The 36-year-old’s status against Kansas City was listed as questionab­le. If he can’t go, backup Josh Dobbs will get the start . . . .

Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel said he expects to play both starting quarterbac­k Marcus Mariota and backup Blaine Gabbert against Houston. Mariota didn’t throw for a second straight day and was listed as questionab­le with an injured elbow . . . .

The Atlanta Falcons will be without two-time Pro Bowl running back Devonta Freeman, who was ruled out of the Carolina game after missing the entire week of practice with a knee injury . . . .

The Los Angeles Chargers will be without starting offensive tackle Joe Barksdale (left knee) and defensive end Joey Bosa (right foot) at Buffalo . . . .

New Orleans Saints defensive tackle David Onyemata was fined $40,108 by the NFL for two roughing-the-passer calls on Tampa Bay’s Ryan Fitzpatric­k. Also fined $20,054 for roughing the passer were the Los Angeles Rams’ Aaron Donald, Minnesota’s Sheldon Richardson, Atlanta’s Grady Jarrett and Dallas’ DeMarcus Lawrence . . . .

Former New York Jets linebacker Dylan Donahue was suspended 14 weeks by the NFL for violating its substance abuse policy for two separate incidents in which he was arrested for driving while intoxicate­d. Donahue was cut by the Jets and is a free agent.

NHL: Red Wings’ Zetterberg retires

Detroit Red Wings star forward Henrik Zetterberg announced his retirement due to a back injury. Zetterberg, 37, helped the Red Wings hoist the 2008 Stanley Cup, winning the Conn Smythe Trophy. He had 337 goals and 960 points over 15 seasons . . . .

The NHL questioned the Washington Capitals about re-signing defenseman Brooks Orpik after trading him to Colorado last season but cleared the Stanley Cup champions of any wrongdoing.

Misc: Harden in cellphone toss probe

Prosecutor­s are reviewing allegation­s that Houston Rockets star James Harden took a woman’s cellphone outside a Scottsdale, Ariz., nightclub last month as she was recording a fight. Harden grabbed her by the wrist, took her cell and threw it onto the roof, according to the police report, which also said the NBA Most Valuable Player then gave the woman $500 to pay for a replacemen­t . . . .

Simon Yates lost a few seconds of his Spanish Vuelta lead on a difficult mountain stage won by Michael Woods in Balcon de Bizkaia. Yates’ gap to Alejandro Valverde was cut from 33 seconds to 25 seconds . . . .

Borna Coric and Marin Cilic gave Croatia a 2-0 lead over the United States in the Davis Cup semifinals in Zadar, Croatia. Coric beat Steve Johnson 6-4, 7-6 (4), 6-3, and Cilic beat Francis Tiafoe 6-1, 6-3, 7-6 (5).
