Dems’ actions will haunt them

Do disservice to #MeToo movement

The #MeToo movement has officially been devalued. The latest accusation against Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh could derail his confirmation, but it will also have a lasting impact on the movement.

Democrats think that by paving the way for accusers to come forward and smear his name it will prevent him from getting the job. The result will have a much bigger repercussion on a movement hoping to out and prosecute rapists and sexual predators.

The two women who have come forward and lodged heinous accusations against Kavanaugh have no witnesses backing them up — quite the opposite, the witnesses they named deny it — and spotty memories at best of what they claim happened. Nothing any selfrespecting prosecutor would even try to bring charges on.

This action by Democrats to derail the confirmation process will come back to haunt them when this becomes the new political trick to take down a candidate. Good luck finding ambitious, smart people to run for office. Why take the gamble when your reputation can be destroyed by a woman’s word against yours?

Kavanaugh has called the claims “smears” and a “grotesque and obvious character assassination.”

“There is now a frenzy to come up with something — anything — that will block this process and a vote on my confirmation from occurring. The coordinated effort to destroy my good name will not drive me out.”

He may not withdraw his name but all it takes is one Republican to vote no and he won’t see the bench.

South Carolina U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, who sits on the Judiciary Committee, accused Democrats of causing the “total collapse of the traditional confirmation process for a Supreme Court nominee.”

“It is being replaced by a game of delay, deception, and wholesale character assassination,” Graham said in a statement.

Once the dust settles, America will see this for what it is and the momentum of the #MeToo movement will lose its wings and fall.

The movement has turned into a witch hunt similar to what we saw in Salem.

This latest alleged victim wasn’t even sure it was Kavanaugh who exposed himself to her at a party because she was drunk. Apparently, the holes in her memory just appeared. Seems like a pretty convenient time for her to magically remember a drunken college incident.

Fortunately, #MeToo helped survivors come forward and many bad men are out of the positions they abused because of it.

Unfortunately, Democrats have overplayed their hand and have made a mockery of it. And they are the ones who claim to be the party supporting women.
