Big Blue too much for Salem

Graham Inzana completed 19-of-27 passes for 340 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for a fifth score as Swampscott (4-0) defeated Salem, 36-21, in a Northeaste­rn Conference Tier 3 football contest yesterday.

Jonathan Oriakhi was Inzana’s main target, with 11 grabs for 159 yards and a pair of scores for the Big Blue.

Elsewhere in NEC Tier 3, Matt Severance finished 18of-22 for 338 yards and three touchdowns while Ishmile Bangura rushed for 177 yards and four total scores as Lynn English (3-1) defeated Saugus, 42-35.

In Northeaste­rn Conference Tier 1 action, Chris Gally rushed for three touchdowns and threw for a fourth as Marblehead (4-0) defeated Beverly, 27-6.

Devin Lambert completed 14-of-18 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns as Dracut (3-0) defeated Billerica, 32-14, in the Merrimack Valley Conference Small.

Anthony Caggianell­i scored three TDs on the ground to go along with seven tackles as Central Catholic

(2-2) took down Merrimack Valley Large opponent Andover, 33-14.

Luke McMenamin threw for three touchdowns and ran for a fourth as Milton (31) defeated Walpole, 34-16, in the Bay State Herget.

In a Cape Ann Baker contest, Thomas Monahan recovered a blocked punt in the end zone for one score and Sam Webber rushed for the other score as HamiltonWe­nham (3-1) edged Amesbury, 14-6.

Chris Costa and Danny Silva combined to rush for 160 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries as Case (4-0) held off Fairhaven, 2118, in the South Coast Conference Small.

Jackson Cote’s 10-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter proved to be the difference as Old Rochester (4-0) defeated Dighton-Rehoboth, 20-14, in the South Coast Conference Large.

As first reported by the Herald via Twitter earlier in the week, Masconomet forfeited its game against Pentucket. In a statement sent out to several media outlets, Masconomet Schools superinten­dent Kevin Lyons said it was a student discipline matter and the administra­tion fully supported the decision.
