Retiree: He’s on the wrong side of every issue

Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination, most recently at City Hall Plaza, and shared her reasoning with the Herald’s Mary Markos:
“He’s the last type of person who should be on the Supreme Court. After I saw him testify there wasn’t a doubt in my mind that what Dr. Blasey Ford said was absolutely true because he showed us that side of him. He’s a bully and he wasn’t even drunk. I’m very, very disappointed that this investigation has been so limited. I could absolutely see him bullying people and feeling that he’s entitled to what he wants.
He’s smart and he worked hard and he’s a good person and he’s completely blind to his own faults and the disrespect that he showed to the process and to the senators. I’m appalled that anybody thinks he’s fit material for the Supreme Court . ... He’s on the wrong side of every issue I care about — the environment, workers’ rights, health care, women’s rights, all the way down the list.
This guy is going to be on there for decades and he’s so incredibly extreme and we haven’t even mentioned the whole executive power thing — he’s way out there on that and I feel like that’s a lot of what’s the commitment that the Republicans seem to have to this person who’s so flawed. They really want to protect the man who lost the popular vote.
It’s just going to destroy the integrity that people feel the Supreme Court should have and that’s, I mean, foundational to our democracy. If people don’t believe that the Supreme Court is nonpartisan ... where does that leave us as a country? We’re a banana republic.”
