The unbeaten run continues for Everett, despite last night’s early score.

Quarterback Dillon Doherty completed 14-of-21 passes for 221 yards with three touchdowns as the Crimson Tide scored 26 points in the second quarter on their way to a 34-10 win over BC High at Cotter Field.

It was the 24th straight victory for Everett (5-0).

“He’s tough,” Everett coach Theluxon Pierre said about Dillon. “If you can get the offensive line to block and give those receivers time, we’re hard to stop.”

The Eagles defense grabbed the upper hand on the game’s opening drive, forcing a three-and-out by Everett.

Bobby Wiesenhahn completed a 23-yard pass to Brendan King for BC High (2-3), then Wiesenhahn scrambled for 21 yards to put the Eagles in scoring position. The Crimson Tide defense managed to stop the bleeding and Cormac Kennelly kicked a field for a 3-0 BC High lead.

BC High’s Jack Melville stopped Everett’s next drive by intercepting a Doherty pass. The Eagles needed eight plays to go 60 yards, capped by Brendan Cassamajor’s 20-yard touchdown run for a 10-0 lead.

The lead evaporated quickly for the hosts. With 6:55 left in the half, Everett finally scored on a 56-yard Mike Sainristil touchdown reception.

Sainristil followed that up with an interception on the second play of the next BC High offensive drive. After a 30-yard Tyrese Baptiste reception, Jaden Mahabir put the Tide into the lead with a 4-yard scoring run.

The Tide defense blocked a punt to set up Doherty and Co. just 19 yards from the end zone. One play later, Everett extended its lead on a 19-yard TD catch by Eli Auguste.

The Everett defense delivered another three-and-out and the ball to the Tide offense with 1:37 left on the clock. Doherty orchestrated a six-play drive and connected again with Sainristil for a touchdown and a 26-10 halftime lead.

“We never take our foot off the gas,” said Doherty. “We want to keep putting points up and that’s what we did.”
