Left sinks to new low on Kavanaugh

“Susan Collins, Rape Apologist.” @womensmarch

That’s my take away from this entire Kavanaugh fiasco. And whatever your politics or personal take on Judge — sorry, make that Justice — Kavanaugh, if you didn’t find the performance of the left the past three weeks a fiasco, you’re too far gone to save.

Women’s March, the liberal gang who threw down this despicable tweet about Sen. Susan Collins isn’t a couple of clueless college fems with a laptop. It’s a well-funded, well-organized national group with the support of prominent liberals like Gloria Steinem and more than 600,000 Twitter followers. And their response to Sen. Collin’s intelligent and powerfully reasoned speech explaining her decision to confirm Kavanaugh was “Rape Apologist.” Not “we disagree and here’s why.” But instead: Collins is prorape.

Does the phrase “prorape” make you cringe? It didn’t look any better in the New York Daily News headhow line on Saturday: “Collins and Manchin: Pro-Rape Senators.” The Daily News at least had enough shame left to change the headline when decent people responded with outrage.

Oh, and speaking of “outrage.” That’s the other thing I will never forget. The ridiculous, insane and sometimes frightening displays of liberal “outrage” over not getting their way. The appointment of a Supreme Court justice by a president of the other party is called “democracy.” It literally happens every few years. Obama appointed Justices Kagan and Sotomayor. By any fair analysis, they are at least as partisan (and I would argue, far more) than Judge Kavanaugh.

How many pro-lifers pushed their way into elevators to scream “baby killer!” at the senators who con- firmed them? A group, by the way, that included around 20 Republicans? Zero. How much “doxxing” of senators’ personal info, how many death threats, many videos of beheadings sent to senate spouses? That would be “none.” Would Republicans have fought on the floor of the senate against a Justice Laurence Tribe or Liz Warren? Sure. But would they have staged a “Spartacus moment,” followed by a coordinated dirty-trick attack of sitting on a sex-assault charge from the early ’80s? Obviously not.

I can state with metaphysical certitude that no Democratic judicial appointment would have faced questions from GOP senators about bogus “gang rape” stories being sold by a creepy porn lawyer. It. Wouldn’t. Happen.

But Democrats and their media allies—including at the Boston Globe-Democrat — did it. And I won’t forget.

I won’t forget U.S. senators suggesting that “innocent until proven guilty” is hate speech. I won’t forget allegedly serious “liberal thinkers” going on the attack against the Constitution itself because they lost an election and, as a result, the court.

I have no idea what happened to Christine Blasey Ford, and like virtually every conservative I’ve talked to, I wish her no ill will. But I also won’t forget that the same media outlets who sent dozens of reporters to stalk Sarah Palin in Alaska and investigated every bar Brett Kavanaugh bought a beer in during the Reagan presidency couldn’t spare a single (ahem) “journalist” to factcheck her story. One rightleaning outlet, RealClearInvestigations.com, did. What they found raised real questions about the accuracy (not sincerity — accuracy) of her testimony.

The fight over Kavanaugh is over. I hope he can forgive how he was treated by the worst actors in American politics and dispense justice dispassionately as he has for the past 12 years.

But me? I haven’t forgiven. And I will never, ever forget.
