Defending Kavanaugh

-

I would like to respond to a letter from Donald Moskowitz. I find it somewhat disturbing that Moskowitz feels the “veracity” and “unbiased opinions” of the Supreme Court are in question due to the recent nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. Are you joking, Mr. Moskowitz? Brett Kavanaugh’s record is impeccable and the only reason it may “appear” that it’s not is due to the man and his family being put through the wringer for no other reason than for the left to simply challenge everything our president does and stands for, period.

In this latest debacle, Trump nominated an honorable, highly respected judge to uphold the Constitution of the United States. He was very heedful in his choice, realizing that whoever that candidate was, he/she would have to endure much adversity, although I don’t think he expected the circus that actually ensued. I personally believe it was a left wing conspiracy for many reasons, the timing of this alleged “letter” that mysteriously appeared on Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s desk immediately following the decision to move forward in voting for Kavanaugh’s appointment being just one of them. Regardless of how anyone on the left feels about our commander in chief, they should respect the seat. When Barack Obama nominated Sonia Sotomayor, the GOP obviously wasn’t in agreement, but they didn’t kick and scream like a spoiled kid who isn’t getting what they want, such as we’ve seen those on the left behave since Nov. 8, 2016. In closing I would urge Mr. Moskowitz to not be so quick to “judge” Kavanaugh before the man has even had a chance to prove himself. — Paul Menard, Sagamore Beach
