Holds nations, even Russia, accountable for breaking deals

President Trump’s announcement Saturday the U.S. is withdrawing from the decades-old Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with Russia refutes the left’s false claim that he’s Putin’s puppet.

The president’s action proves once again the puppet trope was a manufactured talking point Democrats have been using to bolster another lie — that Trump colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 election.

When it comes to bowing to foreign adversaries, voters recall that it was former President Barack Obama who went on a global apology tour during his time in the West Wing while subsequently ignoring “Red Lines” in Syria, North Korea’s nuclear proliferation and Russia’s annexation of Crimea. Also ignored by Obama: Russia’s violation of the 1987 nuclear agreement put in place by Ronald Reagan and former USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev to curtail ballistic and cruise missile proliferation capable of reaching our European allies.

To the contrary, Trump is holding nations who don’t honor agreements with America accountable, including Russia on arms and China on trade.

What clear-eyed voters are witnessing is a president who continues to keep his promise to the American people by renegotiating bad deals. Trump struck a better deal with Canada and Mexico, ending NAFTA and he withdrew from the lopsided Paris Climate Agreement which allowed massive polluters like China to make empty environmental promises — with virtually no accountability — while handing American taxpayers the bill.

Americans should thank our president for putting America’s interests first instead of foreign adversaries, globalists and special interests groups.

After a rally in Nevada on Saturday, Trump said this about the INF treaty, "Russia has violated the agreement. They've been violating it for many years. … And I don't know why President Obama didn't negotiate or pull out. And we're not going to let them violate a nuclear agreement and go out and do weapons and we're not allowed to.” He added, “We’re the ones that have stayed in the agreement and we've honored the agreement. But Russia has not, unfortunately, honored the agreement. So we're going to terminate the agreement.”

An alleged Putin “puppet” as liberals would like us to believe wouldn’t be standing up to Russia as Trump is doing. He’d be turning the other cheek like Obama, who knew that Russia had been violating the arms treaty going back to 2008. Trump, thankfully, understands that he wasn’t elected by foreign adversaries or global elites. He was elected by the American people including the “forgotten man” who’s been left behind by an establishment entrenched in special interests on both sides of the aisle.

Those days are over and voters should rejoice. We finally have a president who’s looking out for us.
