Pedestrian struck, killed in West Roxbury

A male pedestrian was killed when a vehicle hit him yesterday morning in West Roxbury, police say.

The fatal crash happened just after 7 a.m. at Washington and Stimson streets.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene of the accident.

Washington Street between Birchwood and Stimson streets was temporaril­y closed.

The fatal crash shocked neighbors who heard the car strike the body.

“I heard the crash,” said Aurea Noda, 65. “I was in my bedroom. It sounded like a stone thrown.”
