Robert Mack of South Weymouth, former Boston police officer

Robert F. Mack of South Weymouth died Sunday. He was 83.

He was born and raised in South Boston.

He served in the Army.

Mr. Mack worked as a police officer for the City of Boston for many years.

He was a past commander of the Braintree DAV Chapter 29, a past president of the German American Police Associatio­n and a member of the Blue Knights Law Enforcemen­t Motorcycle Club.

He enjoyed traveling and was an avid hunter.

Mr. Mack is survived by his wife, Jean M. (Walsh); a daughter, Lynn of Buzzards Bay; two sons, Paul of Weymouth and James of Garden Grove, Calif.; three grandsons; three greatgrand­sons and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth.

Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
