Butler’s OT bucket lifts 76ers

Jimmy Butler knocked down a 3-pointer as time expired in overtime, and the Philadelph­ia 76ers overcame a career-high 60 points from Kemba Walker to beat the Hornets, 122-119, last night in Charlotte, N.C. Butler’s play in the final seconds was the difference. He blocked Walker’s shot and saved the ball to a teammate with 15 seconds left, setting the stage for his winning jumper from the top of the key over Dwayne Bacon. Joel Embiid finished with 33 points and 11 rebounds and Ben Simmons had 23 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists as the 76ers defeated the Hornets for the third time this season. Butler had 15 in his third game with his new team. Walker’s 60 points were the most in the NBA this season, topping Klay Thompson’s 52 against on Oct. 29. Raptors 122, Bulls 83 — Fred VanVleet scored 18 points, Danny Green added 17 and Serge Ibaka had 16 points and four blocks, sending shorthande­d Toronto to arout in Chicago that snapped a three-game losing streak. Green went 7-for-7 from the field, including 3-of-3 on 3-pointers. Toronto was minus leading scorer Kawhi Leonard, held out after playing 43 minutes in an overtime loss at the Celtics on Friday night. Leonard played in just nine games last season and has yet to appear in back-to-back games. Magic 130, Lakers 117 — Nikola Vucevic had 36 points and 13 rebounds, D.J. Augustin added 22 points and host Orlando beat Los Angeles. Vucevic scored 24 points in the second half as the Magic led by as many as 21 and ended the Lakers’ four-game winning streak. Evan Fournier had 15 points and Terrence Ross scored 13 for the Magic, who have won four of five. Pacers 97, Hawks 89 — Bojan Bogdanovic scored 22 points, Darren Collison had 12 points and five assists, and Indiana beat Atlanta in Indianapol­is. Aaron Holiday scored 12 points off the bench and Thaddeus Young had 11 points and seven rebounds for the Pacers, who played most of the game without All-Star guard Victor Oladipo because of a sore right knee. Pelicans 125, Nuggets 115 — Anthony Davis scored 40 points and led host New Orleans past Denver. Davis followed up his 43-point performanc­e in a 129-124 victory against New York on Friday night by leading a balanced scoring effort for New Orleans, which won for the fifth time in six games. Davis shot 20 of 21 from the line. Rockets 132, Kings 112 — James Harden had 34 points and eight assists, and host Houston Rockets used a big firsthalf run on the way to its fourth straight victory, cruising past Sacramento. Harden, who shot 10-of-17 from the field, had 15 points in the third quarter. Chris Paul added 24 points and nine assists, including 18 points in the first half. Clippers 127, Nets 118 — Montrezl Harrell scored 10 of his 16 points in the final quarter, and Los Angeles rallied to win in Brooklyn for its fourth straight victory. Elsewhere in the NBA — Golden State’s Draymond Green missed last night’s game against the Dallas Mavericks with a recurrence of a right toe injury. It was the second time in three games that Green has been sidelined. He served a one-game suspension in the Warriors’ win against Atlanta.
