Pop princess Ariana Grande has been teasing some major news over the past couple of days, and it looks like Boston’s own Jennifer

Coolidge is in on her little secret. Grande, whose recent single “Thank U, Next” has risen to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, has been on a social media spree as she drops hints about her latest project, which seems to be a movie reference-filled music video for her latest hit. Among the clues posted was a photo of herself with Coolidge, both sipping on iced beverages from Starbucks, that she captioned, “new best friend… thank u, next.”

Everything that Ari has been revealing about her hush-hush endeavor alludes to rites-of-passage movies beloved by all the millennial ladies out there. And her face time with Coolidge is no exception.

Instagram posts includes other references to the 2001 flick, such as a pic of her dog floating in the pool on a bright pink raft — just like

Reese Witherspoon’s character, Elle Woods, did during her Harvard admissions video essay — as well as the line, “whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed.”

Other posts from the past couple of days clearly point to “13 Going on 30” — namely, a recreation of Jenna’s dream house from the 2004 movie starring Jennifer Garner. Meanwhile, Grande also managed to pepper captions with quirky references to “Mean Girls” quotes, like: “yeah but she’s my FIRST cousin”; ‘‘would u like us to assign someone to butter your muffin?”; and “i’m on an all carb diet GOD KAREN U ARE SO STooPID.” And fans especially went crazy when the Grammynominated singer shared a short clip showing the lyrics to “Thank U, Next” written in the same style as The Plastics’ infamous Burn Book.

To finish her social media sprint, Grande told her followers they’d have to wait a bit until the final reveal, writing, “no tea tomorrow.”
