A PERRY HAPPY HOLIDAY

Rocker getting back in the saddle after health scare

-

Joe Perry is in good spirits after his health scare earlier this month, and he wants his followers to know it. The Lawrence-raised rock star just shared that he “had a great Thanksgiving” and posted a small gallery of photos from his holiday to prove it.

The 68-year-old guitarist said he spent “#AVeryPerryThanksiving” weekend with his wife, Billie Montgomery, their sons, Roman and

Tony Perry, as well as Aaron Hirsch, who apparently cooked the spread of turkey, ham, Brussels sprouts, marshmallow-candied yams, stuffing, mashed potatoes and several kinds of sauces. The images revealed the Aerosmith star pulling a total dad move and expertly carving the bird, gushing over an album of family photos and giving the double-thumbs-up seal of approval in front of four boxes of fully loaded pizza — a tradition that we’d now like to adopt as our very own.

Seeing Perry enjoying quality family time at home is a welcome sight for his fans. Just last week, the musician announced he would be canceling his fall tour that was originally going to start at the end of the month. The decision to nix the shows, which were scheduled from Nov. 30 through Dec. 16 and were meant to support his solo album “Sweetzerland Manifesto,” comes after he publicly passed out at a Billy

Joel concert.

“I’m home and doing well, but the doctor recommends a bit more downtime before getting out to rock again,” Perry wrote in a statement last week. “So regrettably I had to cancel my upcoming tour dates. Was really looking forward to playing these shows with Brad (Whitford) and Gary (Cherone) and seeing all of you who were planning to come out and support us.”

Perry had collapsed backstage Nov. 10, after performing “Walk This Way” onstage with Joel at Madison

Square Garden in New York City. Paramedics reportedly worked on him for 40 minutes in his dressing room, administering oxygen and inserting a tracheal tube before rushing him to a New York hospital for breathing issues.

While Perry will be taking the rest of the year off, he’s still slated to play with Aerosmith during Super Bowl weekend in Atlanta. The band is also scheduled to start their Las Vegas residency at MGM Grand in April.
