BOSTONHERALD.COM GETS POLISHED IN MAJOR MAKEOVER.

- By JOE SCIACCA

We’re pleased to present our new and vastly improved website. We’ve changed nearly everything, from the site’s design to the platform it’s built on.

We’ve always had Boston’s most compelling stories, videos and photos — but now you can enjoy them on a user-friendly, easy-to-navigate site that’s powered by WordPress VIP. The same great user experience is available for all devices, whether you read your news on a tablet in the morning while on the MBTA, at your desk on a widescreen monitor at lunch, or while relaxing in the family room on your phone in the evening. The crisp design is optimized for your phone or tablet, but the desktop improvements are dramatic as well.

The homepage continues to be the wide range of Boston news it’s always been. Our analytics show us that’s what you want. The new organization is better, giving you the chance to scroll down the page and find what you need to know.

Once you click on an article, you’ll see we’ve taken a new approach there as well. Bigger photos, better placement of videos, and the opportunity for more elements on the page to help us tell the story. Want to share what you’re reading with friends? We’ve made that easier with improved social media and email sharing buttons.

We hope you’ll spend some time exploring the new design and are pleased with the changes.
