Super PAC formsto stop Warren

- By LISA KASHINSKY

Bay State conservatives plan to dog U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s anticipated presidential run with a new super PAC launching Saturday.

Members of the “Stop Pocahontas” PAC also insist they want the second-term lawmaker resign from Congress, saying she “blatantly lied” when she claimed Native American heritage and denied she used it to benefit her career for decades.

“She’s been lying to Massachusetts voters for years and she should be held responsible for that,” said co-chairwoman Holly Robichaud. “She stole a minority position and if she was a Republican, she’d be out of office already.”

Warren has long been criticized for her heritage claims, prompting mockery when she rolled out a DNA test that showed her closest Native American ancestor was six to 10 generations back. She apologized to Cherokee Nation, only to come under renewed fire this week when evidence emerged that she claimed she was “American Indian” on a 1986 Texas bar application.

The Herald first reported in 2012 that Warren claimed minority status in professional directories in the 1980s and 1990s, and that Harvard Law School touted her as a minority hire.

“We are the victims of lies,” said PAC co-chairman Joe Dunn. “It is time for her to get out of the Senate, never mind running for the White House. We are going to swift boat her candidacy and her incumbency.”

As Warren prepares for a rally in Lawrence on Saturday that is expected to be the announcement of her 2020 campaign, Stop Pocahontas is launching an online petition calling for Warren to resign.

Robichaud said Lawrence was a prime example of Warren’s “failures on illegal immigration and fighting drug addiction.”

Stop Pocahontas said it intends to educate voters on “Warren’s record of hypocrisy.”

“Her lies and failures are going to be exposed. She will not be able to hide,” Dunn said.
