Carol Pulkinen of Rockland, 71, shipping processor

Carol A. (Evans) Pulkinen of Rockland and Florida died Thursday. She was 71.

She was born in Brockton. She was raised in Abington and was a graduate of Abington High School.

She lived in Rockland for over 40 years and worked as a shipping processor for local manufacturing companies.

Mrs. Pulkinen was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Abington VFW and was a communicant of Saint Bridget Church.

She spent winters in Florida with her husband during retirement.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; a son, Richard of Whitman; two daughters, Kelly Leone of Braintree and Jennifer Walmsley of Medway; a brother, William Evans of Abington; two sisters, Karen Conover of Abington and Linda Beirne of South Weymouth; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bridget Church, Abington.

Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Abington.
