Ann Breda of Natick, at 75, ex-Hancock programmer active in community

Ann (McGarry) Breda of Natick died Monday at Leonard Morse Hospital. She was 75.

She was born in Durham, N.C. She was a graduate of Natick High School and earned her bachelor’s degree from Framingham State University.

She worked as a computer programmer at John Hancock before having children.

Mrs. Breda dedicated her life to being actively involved with the medical and special needs community as well as the Group Home.

She was a longtime member of Camp Arrowhead’s board of directors of PATH and was an active member of the Disability Commission in Natick.

She avidly watched Jeopardy, enjoyed reading the newspaper, solving crossword puzzles and spending weekends on Cape Cod in Falmouth and extended vacations in Virginia Beach.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Donald; a son, Donald Jr. of Natick; two daughters, Elizabeth McKenney of Natick and Kristina of Framingham; three brothers, Jed McGarry and Steve McGarry of Marlboro and John McGarry of Harvard; three sisters, Katie Barker of New Hampshire, Ellen Carlson of Chelmsford and Barbara Simpson of Natick; two grandsons; two granddaugh­ters and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Church, Natick.

Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Natick.
